Council neglect the County Town's Roads

Less than 10% of Northamptonshire County Council's expenditure on roads is spent in the County Town of Northampton.
Last year the County Council spent over £12 million pounds on road maintenance, but only just over £1 million of it was spent in Northampton.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Brendan Glynane (Delapre) said: "It is a disgrace that Northampton which accounts for well over a quarter of the county's population has less than 10 percent of the county's road expenditure spent on it."
"The average spend per head of population on roads across the county is £22.96, but in Northampton the spend is only £7.81 per head of population. The residents of Northampton are getting a very bad deal from the Conservatives on the County Council."
"If you compare the expenditure on roads in Northampton at £1.183,076 for a population of 151,386 residents compared with the expenditure on roads in Desborough (£622,512) and Geddington (£593,594) with a population of 8,073 and 1,504 respectively, then you can see how the residents of Northampton are being treated by the Conservative run county."
